I am always amused at the publicity that the CO2 tech companies get for their paltry efforts. Unfortunately, OIF is still the black sheep of CO2 removal, only with a concerted push involving the government will we get action at a great enough scale to make a difference. Convincing position papers need to be distributed and funding withdrawn from some opposing scientists to tamp down their rabid opposition.
Beautiful distinctions. We need CO2 removal that is safe, effective, affordable and as long term as possible. The early carbon offset markets are not proving to be effective especially to the scale needed and certainly not affordable. We need more projects to evaluate Ocean Iron Fertilization that may really be able to save us from global warming.
